Location:
- Socorro, 2010 North Lincoln Park Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90031
Description of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete a bio-psycho-social assessment for each client; develop a treatment plan which includes goals and objectives, and document progress or lack of progress the client is making toward achievement of those goals.
- Act as a liaison between clients and other service agencies involved in clients’ treatment.
- Facilitate groups and educational classes.
- Attend weekly meetings with treatment team.
- Provide family support and education through conjoint sessions as well as family groups.
- Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, this will include P.O. reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, aftercare plans
Minimum Requirements
Language:
- Must speak and write fluently in both English and Spanish
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 30 college level units in Chemical Dependency Studies
Experience:
- Must have at least 3 years work experience in a comparable setting.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Certified Alcoholism Counselor (CAC); Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC); Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC); Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC)
Skills and Knowledge:
- Oral communication skills
- Written Communication skills
- Client relations
- Time management
- Must be knowledgeable in identifying patterns common to this population
- Thorough comprehension of Twelve Step Facilitation Therapy
- Ability to coordinate a continuum of treatment and/or services for clients
- Knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding, and motivate the client.
