Position Title: Receptionist
Location: Socorro, 2010 N. Lincoln Park A ve., Los Angeles, CA 90031
Summary: To answer incoming calls, greet visitors and guests, accept deliveries, and assist the Office Manager at Socorro with various clerical duties.
Description of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answer and screen all incoming calls promptly and courteously.
- Ensure that lobby and reception area are kept tidy at all time.
- Train, direct and supervise clients in proper procedure for working the phones.
- Greet guests and visitors and, when necessary, provide assistance in directing them to the appropriate person/department.
- Ensure the proper upkeep of the staff sign in/out board.
- Notify appropriate staff of important deliveries, client belongings, etc.
- Attendance at weekly staff meeting and monthly staff training.
- Distribute Privilege Card/Sponsor applications, Visit Request forms, Employment Applications, etc. as needed.
- Provide hotline referrals.
- Monitor the stamp/meter outgoing mail.
- Prepare daily client roster (in absence of Office Manager only).
- Maintain database of privilege cardholders and sponsors, and issue cards as needed (in absence of Office Manager only)
- Assist Office Manager in performance of other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education/ Training:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- At least one-year front office reception experience required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Data Entry
- Typing (35 WPM)
- Oral communication
- Ability to handle busy phones
- Console functions
Special Conditions:
- If a recovering addict/alcoholic, must have one year continuous abstinence from drugs and/or alcohol and undergo random drug screening.
